Mary Anne Foley Harpell, 57, of Kissimmee, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2016. Mary Anne was born in Binghamton, NY on July 23, 1959 to James and Gertrude Foley. She is predeceased by her Parents. Mary Anne is survived by her husband of 33 years, Malvern J. Harpell lll , Kissimmee, FL, Brother, James Foley (Mary), Vestal, NY, Brother, Kevin Foley, Binghamton, NY, Father and Mother in law, Malvern and Patricia Harpell, Kirkwood, NY, Sister in law Holly (Rich) Heiser, Ijamsville, MD, Brother in law Daniel Harpell, Kirkwood, NY, Brother in law Heath Andrew Harpell, Binghamton, NY, Nieces Kate (James) Rood, Brewerton, NY, Lannon Foley and her fiancé Rob Herman, Philadelphia, PA, and Margaret (Thomas) Keegan, Chester, VA, Nephews Tyler Harpell, Tanner Harpell, and Tucker Harpell, all of Kirkwood, NY and Ethan Heiser, Ijamsville, MD. Mary Anne is also survived by Grand Nephews Patrick and Finnegan Rood of Brewerton, NY. Over the years, Mary Anne has been an avid animal lover, her current dogs are Suzzette, Mr. Jiggs, and Little Miss Jitty From New York City. A professional educator for 31 years, Mary Anne was an elementary school teacher at St. Catherine’s Elementary School in Hillcrest, NY and a retired 30 year veteran of The Osceola County School District, Kissimmee, FL at Central Avenue Elementary and Kissimmee Elementary. While at Kissimmee Elementary she was nominated and became a member of Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers. Having a positive impact on thousands of students and young teachers, Mary Anne had several close associates in the educational profession that became lifelong friends. After school hours, she hosted several spaghetti dinners for Mal’s teams, sold tickets to sporting events at Osceola and Poinciana High Schools and was a team driver to several competitions in Cross Country, Basketball and Track & Field events throughout The State of Florida. Mary Anne and Mal had opportunities after retirement to travel to The Grand Canyon, New Orleans, Cozumel, Alaska and Ireland, the homeland of The Foley Family. She always had a twinkle in her eye, and a smile on her face. She will be greatly missed by family, friends, and former students.
