Marshay Denise McLemore was born on December 30, 1969 in Richmond, Virginia to Stanley (deceased) and Brenda Woolfolk. She was the oldest of their children, for out of their bond of union also came her beloved younger sister, Monica. Having lost their dad at an early age, growing up Marshay took her job as an older sister very seriously. She was a protector. No one messed with her little sister, but her. Marshay was extremely successful in school. She easily breezed through without even having to pick up a book. She graduated from Caroline High School in 1988. The following year, Marshay and Monica dedicated their lives to Jehovah by water baptism side-by-side on March 26, 1989.
Marshay went on to marry Joel McLemore and relocated to aryland. Out of their bond of union, they had two children; Joel, affectionately known as “JD”, and Janae’. She continued to be a protector and provider. Marshay was a super mom. Although she often worked double shifts to provide for her family, she always made sure to spend time and maintain a close relationship with her children, always instilling in them a love for Jehovah God. It was evident in every choice Marshay made that her God Jehovah and her children were always her priority.
Marshay truly loved her family. When Monica married Timothy Amin of Newark, Delaware, she embraced him like a brother. She also loved being an instant aunt to Amber and Katlyn. Marshay was such a loving, cheerful, generous and genuine person. Much of those qualities were learned from her beloved mother, Brenda. She showed her appreciation to her mother by pampering her every time they visited each other.
Marshay and Monica also continued to be inseparable despite their proximity. They always made time for each other — often speaking to each other several times a day. Marshay showered her mother, sister, and family with love all the way from Florida through her infamous care packages.
Marshay’s contagious bubbly personality overflowed into every aspect of her life. Even at her place of employment, customers often came just for her. Some even memorized her work schedule just to be in her presence. To meet her was to love her.
We will never forget the love she had and the love she showed to everyone. Marshay also leaves behind her two grandmothers, a host of aunts and uncles, and numerous relatives and friends. She will be greatly missed, and we anxiously anticipate the day when we will see her again in paradise.
A memorial celebration of life will be held on Friday, May 20, 2016 at 6:00 P.M. at Conrad and Thompson Funeral Home, 511 Emmett Street, Kissimmee, Florida 34741; 407-847-3188.
