Evelyn L Bolin

BOLIN, Evelyn L. 91, died on January 18, 2015, in Kissimmee following a long illness. She was born on March 12, 1923 in Tampa, Florida to George and Susie Hermansdorfer. The family, which originated from Germany, Switzerland and Russia, changed the family name to Herman after arriving in the U.S.
An accomplished poet, artist and writer, her works have been featured in several magazines and competitions. In 2012, she was recognized by Her Majesty’s Swan Marker, Mr. David Barber, for her poem, “The Regal Swan.” The poem had originally been turned into a song by famous Broadway composer Stephen Scotti. The poem has been used internationally for swan conservation efforts by The Regal Swan® Foundation, Inc.
She will be remembered by family and friends as a loving, kind, warm individual with a sense of humor. She is survived by daughters, Sheila and Shirley Bolin; sons, Steve and Wayne (Traci) Bolin; grandchildren, Ashley (Ross) Ardis, Steve (Valerie) and Jeremy (Carly) Brook, Elijah Bolin, Katana and Kyndall Leasman; and one great-grandchild, Ayden, Ardis. Other family members include Sheryl Bolin, Sigrid Kistler, Lisa Beckmeyer , Kathy Herman and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by husband, Marion Z. Bolin, son James, sisters, Amelia, Elizabeth, Ruby and Ruth; brothers, Carl, Frank, George and Paul. She was a lifelong Protestant.
Graveside services and internment will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, February 6, 2015 at Bushnell Florida National Cemetery with Pastor Tom Beckmeyer officiating. Conrad-Thompson Funeral Home-Kissimmee in charge of arrangements.
